  • October 1947 The Company is established in Marugame, Kagawa Prefecture, with a capital of ¥2 million, as a producer of carbon disulfide.
    October 1957 No. 1 Tokushima Plant (now Tokushima Plant's Yoshinari location) is built and begins operations in the production of sodium sulfate.
    May 1961 CMC production begins at No. 1 Tokushima Plant.
    We applied CMC to wall material later.
    June 1962 No. 2 Tokushima Plant (now Tokushima Plant's Kitajima location) is built.
    October 1962 The Company's shares are listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
    October 1963 The Company's shares are listed on the Second Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange.
    May 1964 Japan's first operations to produce chlorinated cyanuric acid are launched at No. 2 Tokushima Plant.

    November 1975 Full-scale production of imidazole begins at No. 2 Tokushima Plant.
    October 1979 The Company launches production and sales of aluminum shutters.
    June 1981 The Company opens a representative office in Los Angeles.
    July 1984 Production of insoluble sulfurs begins at Marugame Plant.
    April 1989 The Company begins test marketing of Hipolka, a wastewater treatment product using microbes and enzymes.
    June 1989 Test marketing of aluminum borate whiskers begins.
    April 1990 The Company establishes its Tokyo Head Office (now Makuhari Branch Office) in Makuhari Techno Garden, Makuhari, Chiba Prefecture.
    September 1992 A research center (now R&D Center) is constructed in Utazu, Kagawa Prefecture.
    August 1995 No. 2 Tokushima Plant is certified under ISO 9002.
    October 1995 Ranzan Plant is built in Ranzan, Saitama Prefecture.
    May 1997 Marugame Plant is certified under ISO 9002.
    August 1997 The Company's head office is moved and rebuilt in Doki-cho, Marugame, Kagawa Prefecture.
    March 2000 Building material development operations are moved to the R&D Center.
    April 2000 Tadotsu Plant is certified under ISO 9002.
    May 2002 Marugame Plant shifts to ISO 9001 certification.
    August 2002 No. 2 Tokushima Plant shifts to ISO 9001 certification.
    December 2002 Tokushima Plant is certified under ISO 14001.
    February 2003 Tadotsu Plant shifts to ISO 9001 certification.
    March 2003 Marugame Plant is certified under ISO 14001.
    April 2003 The Company ceases trading of its shares on the Osaka Securities Exchange.
    February 2004 Prototype Building is constructed at the R&D Center.
    July 2006 Shikoku OM (Shanghai) Co.,Ltd. is established in Shanghai.
